need help with lag

HEY any1 out there that can help me with my ping.....Recently my ping in CSS has gone hay-wire....i would get 900+ then it would drop slowly down, but go back up in a matter of seconds so any tips that can get my ping down?


btw: i don't have anything else running besides CSS

Wifi?
or wired?
someone might be stealing your wifi connection if it's not passworded.

thats happened with me a couple times. and i have no clue why. i think its steam.

Upgrade your net speed might have to pay more but still...i was playing with you just now, god you was lagging like hell.I some times get lagg like that but it does go down. ;)

take all this ###### of your computer or go to control alt delete then go to proessers then do it that way

what operating system are you using, Windows XP, 2000, 98?

Also, if you have high-speed, make sure that your modem isn't connected to your pc through a USB link. Make sure that it is network cable.

it actually might just be your isp (internet service provider) sometimes the server get lagged down and cant keep up that same speed (causing lagg spikes) which is why your ping jumps around, this also could be from your antivirus updating, or some other program updating, the best way to figure this out is to ctr alt del and turn off everything including your antivirus, and if it still does it, then call your isp and let them know what is going on they should be able to fix it at thier end. good luck :)
