Well, I see more and more of these names that use special characters. Personally I find them rather annoying and unnessisary. They only cause problems in servers, people can't rember names of abusive or good players. I think we need to put a stop to it all. Most of these names can't even be read and they make the members list and forums look absolutly horrid.

What I propose is to stop all names from using special characters for members of the clan. Also, make current members with special characters in their names translate thier names into something sensible. This would also ban internal clan names that are not a squad, an example of one in the clan right now would be csa- (no offence toward the csa- guys, they are cool, but they are also in wf now)

Names that I am refering to look like this:

Along with others.

yah i agree- it's also annoying to add members with names that start with special characters.

you should have included the option of "I hate them but don't ban them" in the poll

I'm the only one that voted no so far.
So you guys are going to kick/ban the people who like to spice up their name, instead of the 50-some characteristics you guys use, they have thousands.
Although sometimes it gets annoying, I don't think you should force people to limit the individuality in their name.

i was making a squad 2 userbar and tehn al aix have a really confused name so i tought it was AE AIX damn i had to make a new one

You can change to Bullseye instead of all those caracters.
Also, i say ban them. It looks more mature to have normal names.

I severely dislike special characters, and want to see them gone.

I feel, however, that my 'internal clan' name poses no threat to the overall wellbeing of WF. csa has been part of my cs tag since beta 5 and is part of my history and character as a cs player. I know all the guys with a csa tag personally, Dolimain used to be my roommate for four years and my friend for longer, Crosshair is my brother, and he and Laminate are going to be roommates at college and he's practically lived at my parents house for the last two years. csa has never been registered anywhere or played leagues, but we've been together for years. We would hardly consider csa a clan by any practical standpoint, there are no meetings or matches or practices. Our common tie is friendship and csa is how we show it in game.

it is a good idea but i think it takes alot of work i used to be in clan that did this and wouldn't let me on with my clan tag of <tLS>Wolf kept kicking me, lots of people got the same trouble to but not just clan tags i mean there general name like Fuzzi etc. although admittingly its a pain to requestban em when they have the special characters so im both ways

I say, Just Ban those names. They're only causing problems, and they're almost always ugly and annoying.

Well, Im not saying ban them from the game/servers. However, make it a requirement to be in WF to not have any special characters.

I agree with the special characters, as far as CSA goes, I don't think it really makes any difference...

I would like to see all members move towards "normal" characters in name and having the same name in game as in forum please.

I accepted this suggestion(as it was mine XD ) and will now go into admin cp and change ingame names to normal characters, Alex, if you could do the same for the forums?

Erm no.

People need to choose what names they want, then we can get people to keep the same name across the whole clan...

Why would you ban someone ecause they had a different name????? Why Dont you Tell Them 2 Change it??? and Uno has a "special name" why isn't he up their?????

half the clan use special characters, see, im not ip there. you cant expect him to put everyone down lol

PS - Ive had my name changed in forums and ingame/xfire its changed too

nobody should have to change it for xfire because its a messaging system. it would be wrong to expect that of our members.
