Website & Server Maintenance

Over the next week maintenance will be done on the website and some servers:

UK Server 4 Removed

The GunGame server we have had running for a month now has not been as successful as we would have liked, therefore we are making it our new US Server 3 and will run the deathmatch mod on it.

The map we run on it will be decided shortly, however at present de_dust2 looks like the likely option.


Main Wildfire Website

The following updates will occur on the website:

• New members list will be created, and the external one removed
  
• A news section might be made which will take the news from the forums and show it on the site
  
• Live Forum and Server user stats
  
• New administration control panel will be made to make updating mani admin powers faster
  
• The site will be better optimized to load even faster using cache techniques
  
• Search engine optimization

Mani Admin Powers Restored

Admin powers such as slay, give cash and other commands will be re-enabled for Majs and Cols as the servers are running a newer stable version of mani admin.

Auto Run HLstatsX

To make sure that HLstatsX is running all the time we will develop a shell script to check the status of the program and start it if the program has stopped (i.e. if the web server was to reboot).

Please note that we are expecting minor downtime on the main website, however the forums, hlstatsx and most game servers will be unaffected.

Updates on maintenance will be posted here on a regular basis.

Maintenance Update

Well it has been a busy weekend but so far we have achieved half of our target goal.

Our new administration control panel is near completion which means we will be able to update game server admin privileges via a custom website admin cp, and also update forum ranks and posts, saving a lot of time.

Search engine optimization and site performance has also been increased too.

Whats Next?

We hope to have all new admins enabled on the servers tomorrow as well as re-enabling mani commands. Then for the rest of the week other things will be cleaned up and everything we want to do will be completed.

Maintenance Complete

We have now completed the bulk of the maintenance, however there are plans for further updates during the next few weeks.

The auto run HLstatsX update will also be post-boned for a week.
