outdated? I don't see that other games are much more advanced than CS:S, you only have to look at Call Of Duty and Medal of Honour, two massive FPS shooters, yet what do they offer that CS:S doesn't? With the fact of so many mods on CS:S, zombies and jail break and the ability to create custom levels and even skins.

So people should stop playing the game just because it has reached the point that it does not need big updates anymore?

Oh, I kinda feel sad for you. So once you've seen a movie, you never see it again? Once you've been with a girl for a while, you leave her because she is the same all the time...
You get my point.

I disagree that MW2 has taken FPS to a new level, it's a standard shooter in my opinion.

I mean compeared with css (not the whole FPS genre) i'm saying that today's 'standard shooter' and above have take multiplayer fps further that css, in terms of graphic, UI, emersion and that sense of working as a team/sqaud. With the addition of the community and sdk aspect of css one of the francises could wipe out css (what i mean is that what would you prefer to play, a zombie mod on css or bfbc2/mw2/MoH.). I'm trying to show that if css didn't have the mod this game wouldn't have been played for as long by so many and if one of the big title did it they'd probably have a game that would slowly take the css fan base.

I still think that single player or a campain is the biggest selling point of an FPS game, multiplayer only decides its longevity

In counterstrike:
10 Use Money, Buy Gun
20 Kill People, Get Money
Goto 10
Obviously its a bit more complex than that. but the great thing is that that is basically IT!

Well a CSS community, and you kinda have to play CSS to be here, dont you?
And ofcourse they don't bring new stuff to CSS, people love it as it is. It's one of the most popular fps games, if not the most popular.
