I'll play again when my computer allows me to. But when I'll have a new computer I'll also try other new games.

Because css is an old game and is becoming outdated. It's not like they bring new stuff to it every year :/

outdated? I don't see that other games are much more advanced than CS:S, you only have to look at Call Of Duty and Medal of Honour, two massive FPS shooters, yet what do they offer that CS:S doesn't? With the fact of so many mods on CS:S, zombies and jail break and the ability to create custom levels and even skins.

So people should stop playing the game just because it has reached the point that it does not need big updates anymore?

Oh, I kinda feel sad for you. So once you've seen a movie, you never see it again? Once you've been with a girl for a while, you leave her because she is the same all the time...

You get my point. :P

First off css is just an ok game, in all seriousness compeared with the current games bfbc2, mw2, etc have taken it to a new level. The only thing that makes css so great is the community and source sdk. everything that makes me want to play css wasn't made by the developer, gun games, surf, zombie, maps and levels is all content made by individuals and small groups not affiliated with the developer.

You imagine if medal of honour or the other big titles released there developing tool (like starcraft 2 has) so that we can make '100 v 100 nades only mod' ;).

I disagree that MW2 has taken FPS to a new level, it's a standard shooter in my opinion.

Hm, I wouldnt say its revolutionised FPS gaming, but Id definitely say its changed it. Thanks to Activision, who are the undisputed masters at soulessly milking there customers dry with any ###### that they can stick onto their titles, the new, larger, base of customers, who arent true gamers, desire to have an FPS and then some. So each game has to have something different to go alongside the multiplayer, which is now the way FPS's are headed. People dont care that much about the single player in comparison.

Its depressing really, but I blame kotick.

Bull crap, the masters of that are Koei lol, just look at their games, they're practically the same game over again done like 30 times lol.

I mean compeared with css (not the whole FPS genre) i'm saying that today's 'standard shooter' and above have take multiplayer fps further that css, in terms of graphic, UI, emersion and that sense of working as a team/sqaud. With the addition of the community and sdk aspect of css one of the francises could wipe out css (what i mean is that what would you prefer to play, a zombie mod on css or bfbc2/mw2/MoH.). I'm trying to show that if css didn't have the mod this game wouldn't have been played for as long by so many and if one of the big title did it they'd probably have a game that would slowly take the css fan base.

I still think that single player or a campain is the biggest selling point of an FPS game, multiplayer only decides its longevity

Only reason i but other FPS games are for the pure fact of the story mode, thats all i enjoy. MW2 doesnt have the same feel as CSS to me personally. CSS is a more laid back have fun type of game, to prove this you dont get as many "rage" videos on youtube, 9 times out of 10 if you go on youtube type "mw2" i bet it will be a punch of ****** swearing down the mic insulting each other for no actual reason. Also although they have better graphics i find some games have TO MUCH graphics and just annoys me lol

CSS, is a brilliant game, and its longevity is down to the fact that its simple, adaptable and its got a massive community of creatives and gamers behind it.

In counterstrike:

10 Use Money, Buy Gun
20 Kill People, Get Money
Goto 10

Obviously its a bit more complex than that. but the great thing is that that is basically IT!

lol, I mean its a cyclical, so you go through a process. And the process is fun and simple. With only two different sections to it: prepare and kill! And maybe celebrate....

Because css is an old game and is becoming outdated. It's not like they bring new stuff to it every year :/

Then what are you doing here, in a counter strike source clan?

Well a CSS community, and you kinda have to play CSS to be here, dont you?
And ofcourse they don't bring new stuff to CSS, people love it as it is. It's one of the most popular fps games, if not the most popular.
