At first it worked very well, but now I can only login on the website. The client doesn't accept my password/email anymore.

I had that problem too, got fixed by removing everything related to Voddler and then re-installing it.

What is this Voddler anyway?

It is like Spotify but with movies, and if you have not heard about Spotify.

Basiclly its a program service that offers you to stream music or movies for free. But then you must live with some adds now and then unless you go "Premium" and pay like 9 euro per month. Really awesome, and made by swedes ^^

100% legal too.

Voddler is currently on Beta stage and it is a invite only service at the moment.

"awesome" because they're managing to get away with abusing the terms of the GPL? The front end is a hacked about version of XBMC, and as such they have to release the code for it....but they haven't. To be honest it sounds a lot like a company that's just sticking together existing projects and marketing it well

Just looked them up, and it seems they've shut the service down temporarily, citing a security breach in the client. I guess karma finally caught up with them.

They only released some of the source code, and GPL states that you must provide enough source code to compile the application. At the moment there is not enough source code to compile the client.

The GPL requires that any changes you make to the code/project to be released back to the community. Voddler ignored this for ages, then when pressured released only a small proportion of the code. The thing is, any half decent developer knows all about the GPL, and wouldn't use it on a project if they couldn't release the code with out jeopardising their systems. That is why it sounded a little weird to me, like they were just connecting up different bits of software and not really developers per se.

Anyway, its pretty obvious that this "security breach" is their way of admitting they screwed up and need to change their systems before they are forced to by lawyers.
