hey people, just watch gattaca (distopian film based on designer babies), thought it was very good and highly reccommend. As i cba starting a new topic and this is very similar to what im asking has anyone seen any good dystopian films lately. of the top of my head i've already seen:
Equlibrium
blade runner
Aeon flux
Ultraviolet
V for vendetta
Serenity
babalon AD
and a famous animated one i cant remember the name of
btw: i aint saying that these are all good, just that they are based in a dystopia (is the vision of a society in which conditions of life are miserable and characterized by poverty, oppression, war, violence, disease, pollution, and/or the abridgement of human rights, resulting in widespread unhappiness, suffering, and other kinds of pain.)

Ok since I have 200+ movies on file, maybe I should suggest a few?

Here we go:

The Green Mile
Good Will Hunting
Children of Men
Lucky Number Slevin
Blood Diamonds
The illusionist
Topa Da Elite (Check this one out if you like good action and a good story)
Thunderbolt and Lightfoot (Clint Eastwood. Very funny at times)
American Psycho
Shawshank Redemption
Donnie Brasko
Slumdog Millionaire (MUST WATCH!!!!!)
Taken
the Perfect Storm
Walk the Line

I've seen most of these movies recently and none of these will you find below a 7.0 on IMDB. These are ALL great movies

Blood Diamonds is bloody amazing.
We watched it in school as we were studying the diamond industry and of course conflict diamonds.
I loved it, it had a good storyline too, must see.

Slumdog Millionaire is also amazing, cba to give a review, lrn2google.

I saw Public Enemies on Wednesday. It's really good, and I would recommend it to anyone who likes a film with brilliant set pieces, acting and drama... and also action.

I just saw Public Enemies also and I totally agree with you. It has an 8.4 on IMDB so it's definitely worth checking out. It's a great drama with enough action to keep you watching intently.
