I used to play breakfloor ( Pwnstars) and the bottom no the death bit but the slide part was surfable, is it possible to do this on Fw? It could combat Tking and accidental shooting of peoples bricks :)

Sorry if its already been suggested but i read through them and i couldnt see it.

You mean when you are falling down , then you can slide up again? I think thats something with "sv_airaccelerate" , because when i had my server , i didn't fall down , because i slipe up, and i had "sv_airaccelerate 100" on my server. You mean WF and not FW? :P

Good Luck with this suggestion.

Lol , you are applying to WF so learn that it's WF,lol.

Back ontopic:
When it's the sv_airaccelerate 100 , i think that it doesn't help much.

Anyways good luck.

My opinion is that this would ruin the way breakfloor is played.

Wouldn't people just shoot out the blocks beneath them, surf to the other side, then shoot up? I get the feeling that the servers would just turn into a "drop down surf and shoot" fest, rather than the map being played as t-star intended...

Lets see what others say anyway

Thats what i meant with "i think that it doesn't help much" , or ppl just think "let's shoot the teammates down , they can't fall , and then i didn't tk, or something like that.
Btw , like Alex say , let's see what the others say.

Agreed.
I don't like servers where you can slide back up, it ruins the point of breakfloor as Alex said, if you're a good player (don't mind this part lol) you will be able to avoid TK's and avoid from falling and it will spoil the tker's fun. :>

sv_airaccelerate 150 is not the solution.

The trench has an angle of +45 degrees. That means that if you would surf, but not move, then you will fall dead in the end anyways. It's the same like it is now, only you can jump out of it a bit better because of the airaccelerate.

And IMO, this should not happen because if you fall down in the middle of the map, you will still die. Which is unfair if you get what I mean.

Useless becus making tk go away is hard.Somebody still tk-s and cheats but thats the way of noobs.
And making that u can get back up so u can camp like u fall on the angle and somehow go to the next corner and make a jumpable spot and camp there.
Makes breakfloor soooo lame

Well pwnstar did use this mode for years, and people didn't really just shoot themselves down and surf, this is because it's a pretty slow process without any momentum. It is helpful in some ways, but can be annoying if you get the guys surfing with shotties. In my opinion it doesnt ruin any aspect of breakfloor, it really just helps people who are tked and prevents people from getting stuck while falling. When they get on the side of the map, they could have done that regardless of there being this surf type thing or not, well most everyone can walk the side of the map. Planzor I tk you all the time and you're 'good at breakfloor', what now?

It doesnt really help, because when someone tk you in the middle , you can't come up again , because you just fall down.

That's right , you can be the best Breakfloor player , but they can TK you anyways.

You cant really use being tked in the middle as an excuse, most times your tked, it's in the spawn. Often if the person is in the middle, it's because he generally feels safe he's not going to get tked there. The middle consists of a 3x3 maybe 4x4 block type area anyways, it's not that big.

So they fall onto the slope and then what, sit there? Great position to shoot down a shed load of people. Its not the way the map was intended, and tstar likes our servers because they're completely pure. I'm sure it could work, but I like the servers being "as is" with no modifications to the map or the way it functions (well gravity is *slightly* lower as it makes it easier to climb hehe)

You can spend your whole life searching but you'll never find out.
Anyway... I would say no. One of the biggest things you must at all times be aware of while playing breakfloor is that you have a limited number of blocks to work with. Once they run out, so does your mobility and ability to work with them. If this were put into place the strategy would be lost because manipulation of your environment isn't essential to your survival anymore.

Well we do have an alternative version of breakfloor (flash if memory serves me correctly) made by tstar; that to my knowledge was never released on the public domain.
