I decided to re-install bf2, two years after i played it the last time :P

Now there occurs following problem: When i try to load a map/connect to the server it crashes.
It doesn't matter if it is offline or online, there is always the same problem. It loads the settings/maps/whatever. after all these things have been finished, bf2 crashes and i get back to desktop without any error message. (it crashes at the point where it retrives the client info) I already tried google, but I couldn't find any solutions.

Anyone (Semph?) knows help?

Maybe it's mad because you don't know how to spell its name.

I updated to v1.41 now, but there is still the sme problem. I don't know if it is important, but in the beginning when i start the game, the voices say "EA Games, challenge everything!" I guess you all know that. But between "EA" and "games" is something like a small crash, it stops and continues a few seconds later.

I had this problem once, after many attempts to contact EA I gave up and called DICE main office. And they did actually help me, they said:

- You might miss a needed file.
- Error with the disc.
- Wrongly installed patch
- Other homemade files, (hacks/skins etc etc)

well if it worked before and you still have no sound issues in anything else it may not be the sound card, delete the game compleetly. add/remove programs and get rid of it there.

then go into your local disk (usualy C://)

and look for the game under program files -> EAGames and remove the folder

then after that re install the game again and see if anything changes, some times uninstallers dont remove the entire program and its files.

Well ######, sorry Mr. Crabby Pants but this is video game related and people do get help in GD forum and this IS under the GD forum so it only makes sense! I would move it to the HC for you but eagleye has taken it upon himself to give only himself admin in these subforums.
