Well, my computer crashes everytime I open CS:S for five minutes or so, it doesn't crash as often when I'm on desktop, it's when I'm on CS:S when the problem occurs the most frequent.

Bullseye and I have tried to find out what the problem was.
At first we thought it was the graphics card drivers so I updated them to the latest but it still crashed.
Then we thought it was the temperature of the CPU but the temperature was relatively low and it still crashed.
So we don't know what the problem actually is..

Does anyone know anything about it or can they help me?

1. Does it crash when you don't run any games?
2. How does it "crash" like blue screen of death or just turns off.

1. No it doesn't crash when no games are running, that's only ever happened once and hasn't happened since.

2. Actually, it varies. Sometimes it has blue screen of death (rarely happens), sometimes it just restarts itself (happened once or twice) but the most common one that happens all the time is when I'm playing CS:S it freezes and makes a sound (happens all the time), you know the sound when something crashes, just repeats itself, this may sound stupid but it goes something like this:

'DRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR'

I get what you mean. Uninstall all of your graphics drivers and re-install. My bet is you didnt uninstall first. Also check your firmware drivers ect.

I was on my manufacturers forums and there a lot of topics concerning this, the reply was use memtest?

Also, what is a firmware, excuse my age.

Use memtest towards the end of things. can you go start>run>dxdiag for me? Then click save information, and post it here? I cant download thihngs so copy and paste it.

*UPDATE*

Thanks Night Hawk, fixed the problem, it doesn't crash anymore, although I think it was down to Steam Community.
Everytime I crashed, I was in-game on the Steam friends, so I disabled it and now I don't crash, but thanks for the drivers for the graphics card, it helped

From the sounds of it, you do need to reformat, but if you don't want to, do like nighthawk said do, update all of your drivers, COMPLETELY REMOVE STEAM + CSS, Then reinstall them, if that doesn't fix it you need to check your system temps, Make sure your video card is not overheating, that could be one cause, your cpu could be another, As for your ram, if memtest said it was ok then i trust that, have you done any overclocking on your pc? FSB, CPU, RAM speeds, any of those?

*sigh*

It's happening all the time again, any tips?
It even crashes on desktop now.
I have format about five times now and it is still happening. Bullseye reckons it's either that I'm not getting enough power or the graphics card but I have updated all my graphics drivers.

I haven't done any overclocking since I don't even know what that is and I just ran memtest again and no errors were reported. Does anyone have any help for me or should I just send my computer back for repairs (again).

format C:\
instal new windows
instal all new drivers for mobo, graphics card, ethernet etc
instal NET framework, flash players etc + lates DX9.0c lates patches etc
check all temperatures in BIOS + windows
maybe GPU temp is too high ? or just some flash thing is missing or dont know

or PSU is giving u wrong voltage ?

maybe too many drivers (graphics drivers) clean instalation should help
