[Note] Please don't bash me for this, but I'm not in the Wildfire Clan. Don't harass me saying "he wants us to give him admin" or anything of the sorts. This is a suggestion, and whether it is accepted or declined, it shall remain a suggestion. Thank you.

Basically, what I am trying to apply here is the theory that Wildfire applicants should be tested on their ability to use Administrator powers while on servers rationally and maturely. So, during the 3 Week trial period, an admin temporarily gives partial server rights (the ability to kick) to the applicant while monitering his or her behaviour. This theory will be used in order to see how the applicant is able to respond to rule breakers, and therefore choosing out more ideal members.

Sorry, but I'm pretty much positive we are not going to. Only Wildfire members can have admin abilities on our servers. And by the way, kick is all our normal members have to giving it to applicants would be giving them authority equal to that of our regular members.

I'm not harrasing you about that wf are going to give you (a non-member) admin powers, but if wf apps had been having admin powers would other players join for the reason that they would be able to use (abuse) mani-admin powers.

Anybody can be WF applicant, so no. And even though if you was member, it will take a while until you get your admin powers.

Unless I'm mistaken, that delay is not on purpose. It's just Alex has to sync the servers before the new member will be added to the admin list.

you are correct eagle, there isn't supposed to be a delay for admin kicking in, Alex just doesnt sync the servers right away and even when he does it takes a map change for it to kick in.

Well, we say Alex because Alex is typically the one who syncs the servers, at least it seems like it, since every time I've heard of them being synced, he's been the one to do it.

It's because the way the server manager is written only one account can 'own' the servers. They're currently under Alex's account.

Isn't it possible to make a "under-admin" wich have control of the servers (I'm thinking of gameservers.com if it's there you have bought it from, if so it's posible)

This explains so much, I've always wondered why we went to Alex :P

Not with the way the current system is implemented.

See, if we could honestly trust that the applicants wouldn't drive away every last visitor to our servers, then that would be a great idea :P

It could be fixed with a couple lines of code that told the web server to update the servers when a new member is added...

Nope, Mani admin can now refresh the client list and get new admins in right away with a simple RCON command, again, a couple lines of code here and there and we are set....

Well, how about giving this admin to applicants after they have become a member but keep them on a sort of 'probationary' period. We could also implement a page in the admin panel to show reports of admin that has been used by each member along with some other helpful information. If a member that is in this probationary period screws up, we would be able to see it and get rid of them :P
